I was having a little conversation with God and this is what the result was. When we get saved it starts a process of separation. It's a concept that we actually go through OVER AND OVER AND OVER! It's not a nice process ever. Think about it like laundry. Some people separate the lights from the darks. Some people just throw them all together. Imagine with me that you are someone who actually separates them. It's a process that you are constantly doing. EVERY single time you do laundry. We are having to always separate things in our Christian walk.
Lev 20:23-26
Moreover, you shall not follow the custom of the nation which I will drive out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I have abhorred them.
God doesn't want us to live according to the world when we get saved. We have to separate from it. Romans 12:2 also talks about being separate from the world. John 17:16 tells us that we are not of the world just like He is not in the world. It is separate. We have to take the time to separate ourselves from the world.
But separation doesn't just come in separating from the world but separation from God. When we sin, we step away from God. God is consistent and doesn't move or change. WE DO. I made this diagram below to kind give you a visual for separation from God.
When we are tempted we have a choice. We can either take a step towards God or towards sin. That's a choice that we make. We take a step on faith and move towards God. If we take a towards our temptation we move away from God.
Today I want you to remember the importance of separation. ON BOTH SUBJECTS! Make sure you separate from the world but don't separate yourself from God!
