Yesterday morning I was trying to transfer the recorded sermon from the ipad to the computer before I left for work. I grabbed the ipad and tried to turn it on. It was dead. I plugged it in to charge and went on to finish cooking. Unfortunately, it didn't charge fast enough for me. It took forever to get the ipad on. Of course, I'm being a little overdramatic. It was less than 10 minutes.
When you are in a hurry and you are drained anything seems to take forever. Right now, it's 2:35 AM. I'm completely exhausted. The past few days have seemed to drag on. Joseph is on a weird schedule to where he doesn't want to go to sleep until 11 or 12. Justin has been getting up at 3:40 to get to work. I have been starting his truck to get it warmed up. Needless to say, consecutive sleep has been non-existence for me.
Tonight was no different. I went to take put Joseph down around 11. That's after fighting passing out for about an hour. He laid in bed and kicked me and slapped me for roughly 30 minutes. I went to my room around 12:30. Dogs started barking at 1. I yelled at them. I finally got annoyed with them at 2:15. I came back upstairs to get in bed. My phone wouldn't charge. I had to come into the living room to figure out whats going on. Now I'm up. Wide awake but exhausted.
My phone is now fixed and charging. I'm watching Live PD and working on my blog. But I want to share something with you. God spent 6 days creating the world. Homeboy did work. He gave 110% for 6 days than in Genesis 2:2 it says that he rested. God, the maker of heaven and earth rested. You would think that if God took time to rest that we too would take time to rest.
Take your phone for example. If it isn't charged fully, it doesn't work to its full potential. If we don't rest, we don't work to our full potential. In any area of our life if we aren't rested we don't work well. If we constantly run ourselves into the ground, we won't do anything well. We have to take time to put ourselves on the charger and rest. This is why God took one day to rest. He reminds us in the ten commandments to remember the Sabbath and keep it holy! Make sure we take one day and rest.
