(Un)Qualified

(un)qualified has been an amazing book that I've been reading. The book released on Tuesday and I got it last Sunday. He has a resource packet filled with amazing things. He's doing an online bible study on Wednesday's at 1:00 live. Steven Furtick's book has been life transforming. It has given me a new perspective on my abilities and my goals in life. I have had to change my speech of myself. Not only has he been doing online bible studies BUT he has been preaching at his church Elevation Church on the subject as well. I highly encourage you to purchase this book if you feel like you aren't good enough for what God may be calling you to do. If I had the money, I would buy 10 copies and give them away.

Last night he started week two and I was floored. I sat in my living room listening to him passionately pour his heart out. He told a story about pieces that had been put together to get him where he is today. In 2004 or 2005 Steven was speaking at a youth conference when his wife leaned over and said, it's time to start the church. Steven was so focused on the things he had wrong with him that he had a hard time being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel because he was to busy seeing his faults.

PAUSE! Isn't that just like us. When God gives us something to do that we focus on everything that we can't do? Moses... Prime example. He tried to use every excuse in the book before he actually was obedient and did what God asked him to do. We have to stop making excuses for our faults and suck it up buttercup and be obedient.

Moving along. Fast forward 10 years to his release of (Un)qualified. They went through many book covers until they came to what they used.
The person who designed the book cover was named Ryan. When he sent it in and Steven said, YES that's it. He emailed back and said great! By the way this was modeled from the stained glass window that is located in the church where you spoke in 2004 or 2005. I was at that talk and remember it well.

The day Holly, Steven's wife, said they needed to start the church was a day that Ryan remembers too because he was there listening to him speak. God does this all the time. Puts pieces together to make you see that you are on the right track. Just like Steven said 2 things last night that confirmed that I am on the right path that I need to be on.

You have to look back on your life and look at all the pieces that God has given you and then put them all together. You have to Step Back and look at the picture with all the pieces being put together. You don't have them all now. But God is building your life, piece by piece. Take the pieces that you have, cherish them. What does your puzzle look like now? Are you refusing pieces because you don't think that you are good enough? Are you denying your calling because you feel (un)qualified? Get your hands on a copy of this book!!!!! It will change everything!!!!
