O taste and see.........

This morning, during my wonderful slumber, came a scream from my 2 year old. I couldn't figure out what was wrong so we came into the living room and watched a tv show to calm us down. An hour later, I found myself curled up with him as he slept. During that time God brought something back to my mind. The person who showed me this, I will never forget. Thank you Ryan Huffer.

Before you keep reading PLEASE WATCH THIS!

This beautiful imagery of gossip is so powerful. I don't think we see these things like this. We see them as harmless tales. Or maybe you even use them as an excuse to tell someone what to pray for. But it remains, you can't pick up all the feathers. Nor can you take back the damage that you cause.

I have been clinging to the scripture of Proverbs 18:21 lately. It tells us that there is life and death in our tongue. I grew up with a woman who used to literally grab her tongue when we would say something harmful or negative and say WATCH YOUR WORDS! I recently saw her and was reminded of her strong connection to that scripture.

The words you say, can damage a home. The words you say, can damage a life. The words you say, can damage a person. But something I didn't think about until this morning was this.

The words you say can engage the enemy.

How so. Satan can hear. He has ears. He quite crafty. Don't underestimate him. I can't say that I'm good at this. I had a complete earth shattering meltdown on Tuesday. I said a lot of damaging things to my husband and unfortunately, another friend was caught in the crossfire. I had to apologize to her. Even though she knew that things were stressful and I was overwhelmed, it shouldn't have happened. Living on emotions will get you in a lot of sticky situations. You have to put a guard on your tongue. You LITERALLY have to taste the words before you speak somethings and see how you would react if you were on the receiving side of things.
