26 “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
27 and do not give the devil a foothold.
28Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31Get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
Ephesians 4:26-31
I don't know how many nights I have sat with Justin praying and been beyond angry and prayed even though I don't want to. We pray every night together, no matter how aggravated we are. Let me rephrase that. No matter how aggravated I AM. Each day Justin and I make sure we aren't going to bed angry with each other. However, I can stay frustrated with anyone else for months. But is it worth it?
According to the scriptures, it isn't. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths. But we are to lift each other up. If we are constantly tearing people down, no one is going to want to be around us. The same if we are just an unpleasant person. Being someone who isn't uplifting causes people to stay clear of you. Just like laughter, negativity is contagious.

This portion of scripture tells us to get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. This is super difficult for me. I have a great example who is quick to resolve ill feelings. Yet I still hold ill feeling towards others. I don't have lists of directions for you. I don't have a huge mind blowing philosophy on how to make this easier.
I have this. If you want to be obedient to God's direction. You get rid of your bitter ill feelings and become better. I know it's not as simple as that. But these are God's directions to us. It's kinda of just do it kinda thing. Not a, "here is an idea of a good thing to do." This is what we are called to do.
31Get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
The greatest thing about this is that when we are obedient enough to hand over our negative feelings, we are rewarded with peace and joy. The bad feelings can be traded quickly. What determines the length of bad feelings depends on our quickness on taking care of business.
