For the last year, this world has experienced the most division it's ever seen. Other than the war between the North and South. Now we have Hillary vs. Trump. Democrats against Republican. Wednesday morning, it turned into a full out war. Since then it's been nothing but rioting, fighting, bad mouthing, name calling, and just down right rudeness. If you are a Christian, that isn't who you are.
I'm not going to sit here and say that we need to be peace, love, and joy hippies. I'm calling out Christians to be Loving, Kind, and STRONG. God gave us an instruction manual to live by. If you aren't reading it, you are going to be left behind. People are mad because they can't control the outcome of the election. Trump is our next president. Plain and simple. There isn't anything anyone can do about that. Rioting is a waste of time.
Colossians 3 tells us that we must rid ourselves of all these things: Anger, Rage, Malice, Slander and Filthy Language from our lips. We are to be a group of people driven by Compassion, Kindness, Humility, Gentleness, and Patience. God knew this was coming. So much so that you can find scripture after scripture to combat what we are facing. Luke 11:17 tells us that Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: ANY KINGDOM DIVIDED AGAINST ITSELF WILL BE RUINED, AND A HOUSE DIVIDED AGAINST ITSELF WILL FALL.
Coming against each other is going to cause everything to fall. God is God. Don't get me wrong. He will have HIS way. But unless we start working together instead of against one another, nothing is going to change. I'm so sick of people standing here thinking that they are entitled because they were raised that way. Guess what, you aren't entitled. You can't get something for nothing. YOU HAVE TO WORK AT IT. That comes with anything. If I want someones forgiveness, I have to work at it. I have to ask.
Right now, I'm having to put in a LOT of work into myself to get me to where I want to be. I'm studying, asking questions. Pushing myself beyond limits that I never thought I could before. I'm taking a hard look at myself and trying to change things. But none of this would happen unless I DO WORK! I tell Joseph constantly that throwing a tantrum gets you nowhere. When the kids I watch do it, I walk away from it. Because they aren't going to get what they want by yelling at me and treating me with disrespect.
This nation..... is disrespecting itself. We are throwing a temper tantrum because we didn't get what we wanted in this election. We look like a bunch of 3 year olds who didn't get the new toy from toys r us. Seriously. It's time to grow up. God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. (Psalm 147:3) If you are heartbroken over the results. It's okay. God will work you through that. If you wish things would change, do something about it. Not rioting. PRAY. Show love. Show compassion. SHARE TRUTH!
We won't get anywhere fighting against ourselves. Only by binding our wounds, holding each others hands, and moving forward TOGETHER will we change things.
