MOVE NOW!

I have a secret. I'm slightly obsessed with Elevation Church based out of Charlotte NC. I love their worship, atmosphere, and the whole experience. On their previous worship album, Here as in Heaven, there is a track called Evidence. It's one of my favorite tracks on the album. And it's not really considered a 'song.' It's a motivational speech from Steven Furtick, their lead Pastor.

My favorite quote from that is "We aren't waiting for a move of God, we are a move of God." It reminds me of my favorite portion of scripture. James.

As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deed is dead. - James 2:26 NIV
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is also dead. James 2:26 KJV

In this portion of scripture, James 2:14-16, James is explaining to Jewish Christians all over the world about Faith and Deeds/Works. He opens with a pretty good question, if you ask me, 'What good is if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can that faith save him?' (vs 14) He goes on to answer it with, 'faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.' (vs 17)

Let me put it to you in a modern example. Faith without deed is like waiting for a package that you never ordered. If you don't order it, you won't receive it. If you have faith, and don't put in some work, its for nothing. Just saying that you believe in God, isn't enough. Just like saying that you are a great worker at a job interview. If you were to get the position but you were to slack off, you would prove that you are full of crap.

Life example. One night, there were 6 young adults thirsty for a move of God. They were attending a prayer meeting and all of them were seeking God, waiting for God to move. Pushing deeper and deeper into worship and prayer. They prayed all night. Not sleeping, just seeking. The next morning at the worship service, the spirit fell so strongly that worship continued throughout the service. The whole church, including the young adults who spent all night seeking, experienced a move of God. They didn't just stand and wait for something to happen, they pushed until something happened.

Stop sitting in your living room wishing that God would move. DO SOMETHING! Like Steven Furtick said, We are a move of God. We are the body of Christ. It's about time that we started acting like it. We need to MOVE. We need to share the love of God with others. We need to push in our prayer meetings. We are at a crucial time in our country. Why are we not seeing every church having meetings for prayer? Why are we not seeing Christians hitting their knees and seeking God for direction?

MOVE NOW!
There are some prayer meetings in our area. If you are curious about times and locations, please feel free to ask me.
