Being a creative person ruins a lot of things that other people could just simply enjoy. Example. When I was younger, I would ask me mom (and still do it) did you see so-n-so wearing the such-n-such outfit? I tend to take in things around me in depth. Like driving the same way to work daily and noticing that the skunk carcus has moved from the side of the road to the middle. I spend time taking in that kind of information and remembering it.
When I look at these different things I think about how detailed God has to be. Take a look at this picture and think about how you would describe it. I'm going to take 3 minutes and tel you what I see.
Portrait of a Female in a velvet blue dress. Seated. Flowers in hand. Single Rose laying across her lap 'upstage' to hand. Peasant ruffles on arms. Open neck line. Hair is up with what seems to be small diamonds holding hair out of her face. Face slightly turned. Arm placed on a table covered by cloth. Blank expression. Almost mysterious. Sleeves pinned up. Dress clasped together in the front. Step behind woman to the right bottom. Seems to be like a stairwell to the right of her shoulder. Looks like
torn or bend canvas to her left on the wall. Where her arm is has a lot of detail. Dress is two toned. Victorian time period? Now when you go to the WIKI page where I took the picture from (http://www.wikigallery.org/wiki/painting_197658/(attr.-to)-Jervas,-Charles/Portrait-of-a-Lady-in-a-Blue-Velvet-Dress) You see things differently. I don't see some of the things it looks like in this photo. I instantly noticed her fingers on her right hand. The ring finger is slightly behind the middle finger.
What's the point of all this? Different people see different things. But the amount of detail in this oil painting by Charles Jervas is amazing. Look at the scripture in Psalm 139:13
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
The amount of time a musicians uses to create a song. The amount of time that a artist takes to make a work of art. The amount of time that a director takes to shoot ONE scene. The amount of time a builder takes to create blueprints. The amount of time a teacher takes to plan out a lesson plan for ONE class. The amount of time a chef takes to prepare a new dish. Is nothing compared to the amount of time that God spent putting you together.
From the number of hairs on your head to the way you smile. From the weirdness of your big toe to the things that make you laugh. It's amazing how much time God spent on YOU! YOU are a masterpiece. There is no one in this world like you. You are a unique item that can't be found anywhere else in the world. Think about how you pick up a cup to drink out of it. No one else does that like you. Maybe someone tries to imitate it but they can't!
Psalm 139:17 talks about how precious His thoughts are of you. He created you. He thinks about you. He loves you. He knows everything about you. You are important, special, and desired. I hope you go away today realizing how important you are to God. Because, it's a lot.
