I wish it would die.....

I've been sitting on something for a few days and I finally got it all well rounded in my head enough to actally put it on the blog. I apologize for the MIA moments lately. Things have been busy busy busy.

I want to open with I am sorry to the older generation for the lack of respect of my generation. We have become intolerant, needy, opinionated, and unreasonable. We are one of the most vocal generation and we all want our opinions to be heard, yet we don't listen to others. I am just as guilty as anyone else.

Communication is a huge issue we face day to day. I learned by reading the church plant book that when you say something, 6 things happen. When I read them I thought back to the many times I had been misunderstood and when I misunderstood someone. It's a lot. Lets just say that when you say something, it's NOT what someone usually hears.

Example. I was asked a question about abortion and I voiced my opinion. I mentioned that in instances of insest the child should be cared for as well. Just that one sentance sent this woman into a tailspin about how I don't respect the rights of women and that I support insest. Ummm. That's not what I meant. But, of course, this was on the internet.

Another example. I had a conversation with someone just recently and I was already in a mood. I took the conversation the wrong way and went off in my own little dramatic world. I felt completely helpless and useless. I felt everything I had worked on was pointless and I wasn't worth having around. I'm a little over dramatic, in case you didn't know.

Let me say that I don't like email conversations, text conversations, or facebook anything. There is to many things that are lost in translation. What someone reads 90% of the time, isn't what you say or what you mean. I don't know why or how this generation has become so intolerant and inconsiderate. But they are. We are. It's embarassing if you think about it. It's a game of who can out shout someone. Who can CAPS more letters. Who can be more wordy with their responses. It's insane.

I really just wish that it would quit and die. People don't have face to face anything anymore. This is one reason that Church on Sunday is so important. We, as humans, love one on one interaction. No matter who you are you crave relationship. Connection. Communication. Understanding. I just can't wait for what we have been pouring blood sweat and tears into to open and go full force!!!!
