When I have time....

I asked my friends yesterday to help me out with some of the responses that they hear from people when they asked people to go to church with them. I was surprised that I didn't see the response that I always hear. Most of them where, I don't have time. That's the only day I have off and I want to sleep in. I want to focus on when I have time.

My mom has told me this story over and over and over. There are two friends, lets call them Tara and Sarah. Tara attends church every Sunday and has been asking Sarah for a year to go with her to church. Now Sarah is highly annoyed with Tara constantly asking her because she keeps telling her no. Finally Sarah tells Tara that after new years this year she will go with her. She wanted to make sure she got one final night of partying in before she makes the plunge into the dull life of Christianity. Tara doesn't push to hard but tells her that the Christian life isn't boring and it's better than any drink she's ever had. Tara keeps asking, even though Sarah told her that she would come after new years.

New years came. Sarah went out with her friends and got smashed at, what she thought, was the highlight of her life party. After midnight was over she got in the car and was riding with her designated driver when a drunk driver ran a stop light and crashed into them. Killing everyone inside. The bible tells us that life is a vapor, here for a minute and then vanishing. We aren't promised tomorrow.

I'm an annoying person when it comes to this. I don't understand why people aren't willing to give up 1 to 3 hours once a week that could potentially save their life. I think about all the things I do during the week that takes up that amount of time. Facebook comes to mind. But there are other things that I find myself doing that consumes way to much of my time. If you are one of those people who constantly make excuses for not going because you don't have time. There are thousands of sermons online that you can listen to. There has to be 50 minutes during your week that you are just sitting watching something on TV just because you are wasting time.

If you are one of those people who keep asking people to come with you and they are giving you the run around. Please don't give up. Please keep on keeping on. You are fighting against evil. Don't give up. Your persistence might be the thing that changes their life!!!
