.Creativity.

What is your "Creative Outlet?" What's the activity you do to relax? Ron Edmondson, my devotional guy for today, is a runner and uses it as his time to unwind and focus on God for a while. What is it that you do?

That was on my facebook from 4 years ago. I keep going over this in my mind because I'm trying to figure out some of my outlets. A few months ago I made every day something different. Thankful Thursday, Worship Wednesday, Fasting Friday. It didn't stick for long, but I still think about it from time to time and gather some thoughts for the day.

I thought about changing Monday to Melodramatic Monday or Tuesday to Theatrical Tuesday. I wanted to keep in touch with those roots that I have because I feel like I have a lot of outlets and I don't want to lose those abilities. It didn't stick, mainly fear. But that's beside the point.

Creative outlet could be anything from Crocheting, doing puzzles, running. I'm talking any activity that you use to relax you. I crochet so I don't kill people. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the thing that you do when you are so wound up tight that you are going to explode. Mine is walking. I started about 3 years ago and really enjoy it. It's been a great outlet for me to focus on myself.

In life, you have to remember that you have to take some time for yourself. You have to make sure that you are taking 20 minutes a week and doing something for you. It could be reading, it could be watching a tv show without interruption, anything. Of course having kids makes things a little more difficult. I'm going to start taking Joseph with me to the track eventually and walk with him. When I'm reading, I read out loud to him. Yeah, it's silly because it's self help books, but he's still seeing mommy read.

So, 4 years later I will ask again. What is your creative outlet?
