What is Elevation Church?

A few of my friends have been...... "overwhelmed" with my emails over the past week about Elevation. Not just emails, but texts or conversations. I want to apologize for being annoying, but when you find something that is impacting your life significantly you want to share it with others. For the past few months I've been watching the sermons of Pastor Steven Furtick out of his main location in Charlotte North Carolina. Not LIVE but at least on youtube. I haven't been attending a church for a little under a year. After we had Joseph we were determined that we would get back into church. We looked at a few places and continue to look. However, we both really enjoy Elevation.

Even though the church is based in North Carolina they have campuses in Canada, Florida (soon), and Roanoke. Eventually we will visit 2 or 3 of the campuses but for now we watch at home. WHAT?! How can you do that? It's simple, all you do is go on their site and watch their services LIVE. The following day (Monday) they post one of them on youtube so you can watch it through the week if you missed something. Steven talks fast and sometimes you just need to pause him to get all the notes you need.

Their different locations broadcast the sermon from where ever Pastor Furtick speaks from. It's odd to actually understand this because how does a church work without a pastor? Each location has a pastor, praise and worship team, and volunteers just like your local church. Each location is focused around the 4G's (giggle inserted here) Click the link to read them in detail but they are Growth, Gifts, Giving, and Groups. I can't speak from experience because I've never been lucky enough to visit a location, BUT I WILL. Their belief system isn't any different from what I grew up with. Steven grew up Methodist, like myself. You can read their belief on the link to read them. They are a group of simple people making a big impact all over the world. The Code is just a few things about them they focus on.

So, why have I been so annoying about service and inviting people over? The one thing that Justin and I miss is connection. We currently have limited connection to other Christians. That's why attending church is so important. We are thrown into the world daily and don't have much connection. That is why we have invited people over to watch it with us. We aren't trying to drag you away from your church. If you have one you attend, THAT'S AWESOME! But if you don't, and you are looking for somewhere to get together with others and fellowship. Take today.... 9:30 or 11:30 and watch Elevation Church live and see what you think. If you aren't getting ready to go somewhere or are just sitting on your couch, YOU CAN TAKE AN HOUR AND A HALF TO WATCH IT!

We use my laptop and HDMI cord and connect it to the TV. I'd love to have a group of people that I can connect with and grow. Check it out and see what you think!!!!
