Tragic Transformation.

Sometimes in life we encounter tragic things that cause a life change. I'm a strong believer that everything happens for a reason. When I was a senior I was in a severe car accident that should have claimed my life. If I hadn't been wearing my seat belt, it would have. Long story short I was riding with a friend back to home school from Governors School and he was racing another friend when both vehicles collided. The BMW I was in flipped 6 times and landed across a 4 lane highway, with a median, and landed in someones driveway. I walked away with a seat burn on my chest and a bump on my head. I was in the backseat. When the passenger of the other car walked up to me, he told me to look at the car. He said, I needed to see what I walked away from. He knew my level of faith and he was not a christian but he knew that I would need to see the vehicle. The cops had to ask me what kind of car it was because they couldn't tell. The car was demolished, EXCEPT where I was sitting. The glass had been shattered everywhere, EXCEPT WHERE I WAS SITTING. My side never hit the ground.

It was at that moment that I realized that God was trying to get my attention. Here I am, 10 years later, still alive and God is still getting my attention. Just in other ways. During this snowmegeden or whatever they are calling this mess, a location in Waynesboro VA collapsed.

A very close friend of my husbands would visit this location every weekend. Sometimes twice a weekend. He would go here to hangout with a group of people and drink. This person has been weighing heavy on our hearts since our son was born. We have been saying over and over that we needed to spend more time with him and talking to him.

Thank God no one was inside the bowling ally when this occurred. But what a blessing in disuse. Justin and I might be the only connection that this person has to God because of his past. Justin and I could make a difference in this mans life and encourage him in conversations about relationships with Christ. We are not RESPONSIBLE for his salvation but we could be the only connection that he has. Why not take the chance and spend one evening with him? Why not go out of our way to spread love and speak life into his life?

We're never promised tomorrow. Jan 21 was the 10 year anniversary of a friend of mine passing from a car accident. Another friend of mine passed in a car accident in 2009. These people were taken to soon. Not to mention children I know who have passed. If you have been saved from a severe life altering tragedy, first off THANK GOD THAT YOU ARE!

Secondly, Do something about it. You were given a second chance, just like Jonah. God placed your here for a reason, now... DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! You can continue to run away from it, but He will bring you right back. Don't keep pushing your limits. Accept what has happened. Take a breath. Remember what you were called to do. AND JUST DO IT!
