As I was watching Steven Furtick this morning he made a HUGE point that hit me so I wanted to share it with you. We hear pastors say all the time that your time is coming. Your breakthrough is right around the corner. We hear sermons of 'Hold on, Have faith, it's coming.' But I don't know that I have ever heard a sermon about the wait being over the time is now.
With the way things are going in our world right now there is a sense of urgency. There is a sense that if things don't change NOW we will experience the greatest downfall this nation has seen. People, things are bad. Seriously, they are bad. The church is divided so badly that if we were to get into a battle with the enemy we wouldn't prevail.
Imagine this. A football team goes out to play offense and the QB calls a certain play. Half of the linemen decide they aren't going to listen to what the QB says and wants to do whatever they want. The other half follow through. What do you think is going to happen? More than likely the QB is going to get sacked, possibly fumble the ball, and lose yards. If this continues to happen for the duration of the football game what does that mean? That means that there is going to be a lose of a game and a victory for the other team. The linemen HAVE to listen to the QB and follow instructions.
This is what is happening in the body of Christ. God set rules in play thousand of years ago and hasn't changed his mind about them. He is the God of TODAY, YESTERDAY, AND TOMORROW. There is no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Some people are listening to it, some are not. It's not a matter of who is right and who is wrong, it's a matter of obedience against self gratification. We spend so much time trying to make everyone happy that we don't want to offend anyone. Do you think that Jesus cared who he offended.... ummm nope.
Listen, the time is now. The wait is over. We need to take this country back and stop praying that there will be a turn around and start MAKING a turn around. There is nothing in this world more important than seeing a change take place. I'm encouraging... no not encouraging... pleading for you to do something about it. Don't just sit on your butts and think someone else is gonna do it. YOU DO SOMETHING. YOU MAKE A MOVE. Stop being a bump on a log, DO SOMETHING.
