"Remember, you may choose your sin, but you cannot choose the consequence."
Jenny Sanford
We have free will. That's a known fact. We can make decisions and choose to sin if we want to. We can choose to be a habitual sinner too. (Habitual means to do it over and over or out of habit) But we don't get to choose what our consequence is.
You can choose to be someone who drinks. That's your decision. But you don't get to choose what you lose if you drink. It could be a license because you have too many DUI's. It could be your family. It could be your freedom. It could be your sanity. Or your money. Your home.
I have to look at my temptation as an opportunity. I have the choice to sin. Or I have the choice to not sin. It's an opportunity to show my faith or my weakness. I could sin. It would be easier. And risk losing something precious to me. Or I could show my faith. And overcome. This is short but impactful.
You have to look at every temptation and sinful situation as an opportunity. An opportunity to prevail or fail. To gain or lose. That decision is yours to make. And the only person who loses is you.
