If I am living my life to gain friends, followers, subscribers, or likes. I'm not really living. Life isn't about the number of people I impact, it's about the quality of life that is changed. My great aunt impacted people and made a lasting impression on them because of her honesty, love for people, and ability to talk to anyone who would listen. She treated everyone like a friend. She loved without reservation.
The man who came in last at family night. He walked up to the casket, talked to Grace, and went to leave. My mom stopped him and thanked him for coming. The man fought tears. My mom talked with him. He mentioned that he had only known her for 2 years and she greatly impacted his life. She taught bible study at the facility where she lived. He spoke of her heart and her love for people. He spoke about this woman I had known all my life like he had known her for all of his.
My great aunt impacted that mans spirit. Not just him. But his spiritual walk. I wonder if we can say the same about ourselves. Do we just leave an impact on someone because of what we do for them OR because we reveal Christ to them? I am challenged by the life of my great aunt in so many ways. I look forward to getting a hold of her bible and reading her notes. Such a wise, powerful, impactful, spiritual, relational, funny, carefree soul.
How are you impacting others?
