Stop living like it's Friday.

Normally that wouldn't be a very popular statement. For people who have a Monday-Friday job, we live for Friday's. Being the last day we work before we have a day off. Monday's aren't our favorites. It's typically the way things are. For people who don't have Monday-Friday jobs, it's different. When I was in school, Friday's were our favorites. Last day of the week, ready for the weekend. Movies, parties, spending the night. For me to tell you to stop living like it's Friday you might be shocked and slightly offended. I have yet to step on your toe. It's only the beginning.

We all know the story of the resurrection. Jesus was hung on a cross, died, and buried in a tomb. When people pass away, modern day, they are taken to a morgue, processed, and prepared for funerals. When Jesus was put in the tomb it was like a funeral. We all have experienced loss in one way shape or form. When the spirit is absent from the body, it's with the Lord. But them not being here causes pain and mourning.

Can you begin to imagine the 12 disciples pain? Those 12 men were Jesus's "squad". The people who hung with him. His people. His amigos. His crew. His click. He spent a lot of time with them. You can imagine the impact that his death had on them. Catastrophic. But 3 days later Jesus rose from the dead. A miracle. Cause for celebration.
When we experience God for the first time, it's unlike anything we've ever experienced before. STORY TIME. When I was working for a company there was a lot of turmoil and conflict among the staff. It became so bad that our performance in customer service died. We didn't want to ask anyone for help because we would be so angry at that person. Why, no clue. Finally I began praying for a way out. I would scrub fish tanks and pray that God would give me a position somewhere else. I would cry on the clock all the time because of how awful these people began talking to me. Finally, he opened a door. These things happen a lot. Just little things, not always big.

What I'm trying to get across to you is that we can't live our life like it's Friday. Comfortable, numb, stiff. We can't have the attitude that, oh well Jesus is dead, lets be sad about it as the disciples might have been on Friday. We have to expect those moments of miracles that happened on Sunday. When you experience a miracle first hand you want to see it over and over. You can't live like it's Friday anymore.

I don't want to be around people who live like it's Friday. I want to be around people who are waiting on the edge of their seat waiting for God to move again. Can you imagine how boring life would be if people constantly lived like it was Friday? What about a church? I couldn't handle it. I am constantly looking for area's where God is moving. It's what keeps me going. Trust me it's never easy, but so worth it. We have to stop living boring, dead, suffocating lives. We have to live life full of expectation, life, growth. So, are you a Friday Christian or a Sunday Christian?
