Growing up in the time period that I did, I watched a lot of Adam Sandler movies. Yes, I watched his movies. Get over yourself. :-D Anyway, there was a phrase that I took from his movies and still say today. You can do it. (Collections of Rob saying you can do it) Over and over he uses this phrase in hilarious situations and I just sit giggling. Looking back, I have told myself over and over and over this and yet still don't feel like I can.
Why? If you would add up all the times that I was told that I couldn't and weigh it against all the times that I was told that I could. The good would out weigh the bad. I have to wonder, why do I only remember the negative and never the positive? I've asked myself that over and over and I can't get an answer. We only tend to remember the negative. Some people it gives them motivation, some it crumbles them.
We spend days, weeks, years, a lifetime replaying those negative thoughts in our head. Like an ear bug that won't GO AWAY! I guess this is a participation blog, why do you think we spend our lives focusing on what someone tells us that we can't do and never the positive comments? Look at Noah.
Noah was told for years that he was crazy and he was building some awkward contraption for some word that they had never heard of. Something they had never seen was coming and he looked like a complete idiot. He remained steadfast. He continued to push through and build this ark. Now he doesn't look like an idiot, but in his time they thought him mad.
I think if Noah was around today he would want to leave you with one phrase. One piece of advice to conquer anything that you are looking at facing in your life. You CAN do it!!!!!! If he could endure years of people laughing and pointing at him, what makes you think you can't climb over the mountain that's in your way and take back those years of negative thinking?
